September 22 See Back Cover OUTDOOR RECREATION 21 Cedar River Off-Leash Dog Park Bring your furry friend to the City of Renton off-leash dog park along the Cedar River Trail, located at 1500 Houser Way South. Nearly four acres of level ground are surrounded by a rustic split rail fence – the material was generously donated by McLendon Hardware and constructed by community volunteers. The park includes a separate area for small and shy dogs. Join your dog-loving neighbors and visit with a variety of canines having fun being off-leash and free. Learn about our local salmon, then share your knowledge with visitors at salmon view- ing location along the Cedar River in Renton and Maple Valley. No prior experience or knowledge required. Join the Seattle Aquarium in October for free and family-friendly programs on the Cedar River salmon journey! Spot spawning salmon, learn about their amazing journey home and receive tips on things we can all do to help. Volunteer natu- ralists will be stationed from 11:00am to 4:00pm on October 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28 at Renton Library Bridge, Cedar River Park, Cavanaugh Pond, and Landsburg Park & Dam. Carpool if you can—these sites have limited parking.
