The Renton Youth Council participates in many different local and regional events. The RYC volunteers at many community fundraising dinners developing real life vocational skills and leadership qualities. The RYC members also join teens from around the area at a yearly Teen Summit in the fall to share ideas, concerns, and thoughts including planning a service project for their home community to be completed in the spring. In January of every year, the RYC travels to Olympia to meet with state representatives and senators to lobby support for upcoming bills that will affect teens in Renton as part of the Legislative Youth Action Day.
