FOR MORE DETAILS VISIT RENTONWA.GOV/NEIGHBORHOODPROGRAM 25 The goal of the Neighborhood Program is to build trust and create viable partnerships between the City and the residents it serves. We assist neighborhoods in a variety of ways including: • Neighborhood event organization assistance • Community volunteer and small works grant projects • Organize community conversation events • Connect neighborhoods to appropriate City staff to address neighborhood concerns • Attend neighborhood meetings and events We provide services to over 100 neigh- borhood organizations, and helped organize over 40 neighborhood events in 2018! For more information on how your neighborhood can also benefit from the Neighborhood Program, please visit Rentonwa.gov/neighborhoodprogram. Neighborhood Grants Apply for funds to transform your neighborhood this holiday season! The Neighborhood Program offers up to $500 for small works projects, and up to $1000 for neighborhood events, that positively engage and improve your com- munity! Here are some creative projects you and your neighbors can celebrate this holiday season! • Support the Seahawks with a 12th Man inspired neighborhood tailgate • Have a paw-ty! Organize a neighbor - hood dog play date at a local park or community area! • Organize a Cocoa and Caroling event to sing and keep warm with your neighbors on a cold winter night this holiday season To learn more on how your neigh - borhood may be eligible, and how to begin planning your holiday neighborhood activity, please email neighborhoodprogram@rentonwa.gov. Join your neighbors on Nextdoor! Nextdoor is the private social network where neighbors work together to build stronger, safer, happier communities, all over the City and, it is free! Use the technology of Nextdoor to: • Find a last minute babysitter • Plan and promote a neighborhood event • Share crime and safety concerns and information • Ask for contractor or landscaper recommendations • And much more! The City of Renton also utilizes Nextdoor to share important information like crime and safety information, emergency pre- paredness resources, community events and engagement opportunities, and traf- fic safety concerns.
