Here are other ways you and your neighbors can celebrate your neighbor- hood and make it a more exciting community to live in: Organize a neighborhood meet-and-greet Select a theme or activity that encourages residents to socialize and play! This could be as simple as a neigh- borhood potluck or BBQ or monthly neighborhood coffee meet up at your local park! Organize a neighborhood walk Invite your neighbors on a walk within your neigh- borhood to discover what is important to them in the neighborhood. Record any issues and concerns, discover how your neighborhood could be improved, or simply appreciate what you love most about where you live! Beautify your street Host a neighborhood cleanup, plant flowers in a right-of-way entrance, plant a community garden. These are great ways for neighbor- hoods to motivate residents to make a positive change and give back in a simple way! THANK YOU... To all of our recognized neighborhood volunteers who strive to make their neighborhood community a better place. Every year volunteers organize a variety of neighborhood events, projects, and meetings, from coordinating fun activities for an outdoor block party, to corralling volunteers to build a community library, every one of these efforts require an extensive amount of prepa - ration and are executed with the sole purpose of making Renton neighborhoods a more enjoyable and livable community! Last Spring, the Greenleaf Homeowners Association got together to build a community "Little Free Library" at their local park so residents can take a book to read or bring a book to share with the rest of the community. 32 FOR MORE DETAILS VISIT RENTONWA.GOV/NEIGHBORHOODPROGRAM
