It is designed for the 50-plus age group, and all fitness levels while embrac- ing safe aerobic conditioning for all. This fun-filled class will help improve body fat and muscle percentages, reaction speed, coordination, self-confidence and your body's agility. We will move to fab- ulous music and have great fun together! Participants are encouraged to work at your own pace. Your first class is free. Class is taught by Tom Willa, a Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. No class on September 4, 11, 13, 18 and 20. Mondays / Wednesdays 9:15–10:15am LMTG $3 Beach Ball Volleyball You've been served! Join us for a great activity…beach ball vol- l e y b a l l ! I m p r o v e y o u r e y e - h a n d coordination, upper body flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. The game will be played while sitting in chairs and will be six member teams. Join in on the fun and laughter while competing as a team. We play every Thursday morning. No play September 14 and 21. Thursdays 10:00–11:00am LMTG Exercise with the Aid of a Chair This class is designed to keep your joints in good condition, tone muscles and stimulate your circulatory system. You are encouraged to exercise at your own pace. No class September 13, 15, 20, 22. Wednesdays / Fridays 10:45–11:30am LMTG Tai Chi & Qigong Improve your balance and increase your energy level, flexibility, and coordination. Join Instructor Viola Brumbaugh for a blend of eastern exercise for health ben- efits, longevity, and fun. Great strength and prowess are not required. 60079 Tue July 11–Aug 1 1:00–2:00pm 60080 Tue Aug 8–Aug 29 1:00–2:00pm A $20R / $24NR Strength and Balance Studies show adults 50 and over who strength train with weights greatly improve their ability to perform their daily activities, increase bone density and metabolism and improve balance. This class will teach you resistance train- ing using correct form and maintaining good posture. Remember: exercising with a friend is a lot more fun…bring one along. Both men and women are encouraged to attend. Class is taught by Peggy Johnson, a Certified Group Fitness Instructor. No class on July 3, September 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27 and 29. Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays 1–2pm A $3 FITNESS ROOM MONDAY–FRIDAY 9:00AM–4:30PM The Renton Senior Activity Center has a fitness room just for seniors (Ages 50 and older) for only $1.00 per day. Fitness is not a fad, it is here to stay and can enhance the length and quality of your life. Come on down and check it out. Closed on July 4, Sept 4, 11–22. Orientations are required before use and are done on Wednesdays between 9:00am and 2:30pm. Our yoga addresses flexibility, improved circulation, balance and deeper breathing. Look for sharper brain functioning, better posture and muscle tone as you move to a health- ier, happier and more peaceful sense of wellbeing. Please dress in comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.
